This week I started volunteering at a local dog shelter.
Continuing to work to get our garden ready for planting has been keeping me very busy. Hopefully we will be able to get some things to grow this summer. The area we are turning into a garden was previously just grass, so we have been working to eliminate the grass without using chemicals. We first, used a large plastic tarp to kill the grass and my husband also used the tractor to scrape off some of the grass. We are then putting down wood chips in the garden area, this will help keep moisture and nutrients in the soil and help to prevent weeds.
